The work has begun
As many of you are aware, a fence has been erected on our walkway which is obligatory while we are working on our extension and the piles are in place, so “Stage 1” of the extension has been completed.
As many of you are aware, a fence has been erected on our walkway which is obligatory while we are working on our extension and the piles are in place, so “Stage 1” of the extension has been completed.

There will be a delay before our primary and secondary beams, the joists and decking are available. The timber cutters were not able to complete their work on these before the Christmas break and do not return to work until late January. Our South Coast timber supplier has advised that the delivery of timber is scheduled for late March.
Now that we are over our Xmas celebrations, the next task involves reducing the height of the piles to the correct height and cutting a vertical rebate in each one to take the beams.
However, there are a number of other jobs to be done which are being organised by Reg Wilkins and Bryce Ellis. Most of them will involve limited numbers of people to assist and Reg will be in touch with some of those volunteers who have indicated their willingness to assist the with the extension work.
Income and Expenses to date
To date, we have spent $67,600 on the extension.
- $20,000 was used to obtain a Development Application and Certifier’s Certificate.
- $35,500 was the cost of the piles.
- $5,700 has been paid as a deposit on the timber (total cost $30,000)
- $6,400 was paid for purchasing materials for the fence and to connect the new beams, joists etc to the current clubhouse and walkway
This has been funded by:
- $40,000 from a State Government grant
- $21,000 from accumulated CRSC surpluses
- $6,600 from the fund raising efforts of members.
Members’ fund raising activities include Officeworks barbecues, various Club social events such as Club Championship nights, plus personal donations made with annual subscriptions.
