Tax Deductible donations to Concord & Ryde Sailing Club.
CRSC has two projects approved by the Australian Sports Foundation to receive donations which are deductible for your income tax. If you are able to support either, the members and their committee would be most grateful.
Firebug dinghy outreach
CRSC is partnering with the Firebug Class Association in an initiative to enable youths aged 15 – 20 interested in all facets of sailing to learn how to build a dinghy and maintain it. Funds will be used to purchase materials such as timber, plans, fixing resins and glues, and the Club in conjunction with local schools will make available the necessary skills training and workshop/storage space.
This is a worthwhile initiative to give students an opportunity to learn woodworking skills on a substantive practical 3m boat and develop a stronger commitment to their long term participation in the sport of Sailing.
The CRSC will administer the project and provide access to the Club for working sessions and storage.
The first winter build has now been completed. To avoid conflict with sailing activities the hulls have been removed for fibreglass sheathing and painting. The first boat completed, #1304 was delivered to the club on 2 March 2019.

Clubhouse Extension & Boat Storage
The Club needs more storage as the local population moves to higher density apartment living and generally lacks space for boat storage (off or on street) for recreational sailboat users. Public funding assistance is needed to continue the project. Current storage will be increased approximately 40% for sailing dinghies and 5 power boats plus increased operational, safety and maintenance equipment storage. Priority of storage is always to boats suitable for school age youths. We also need space in which to store tools and accessories, such as safety vests, training materials and small tools.
While construction of the extension is now complete, the club funds expended on the project need to be replaced and donations to this end would be gratefully received.
