CRSC is a Discover Sailing Centre accredited by Australian Sailing. The training courses we offer are outcome based delivered by qualified Trainers. Our training programs cater for both children and adults. Using Australian Sailing’s syllabus, trainees progress through structured modules over eight consecutive Saturday mornings.
Every experienced sailor in major sailing competitions worldwide commenced sailing in a "Learn to Sail” course when they were a child and have built on to their skills from those early days. Many of our current sailing members have graduated from our learn to sail program. Our training fleet today offers Optimists for the earliest stage of children’s sailing experience. From these, they graduate to Firebugs as their skills develop. Our training for adults is conducted in Spirals, complemented with other craft including our club Moths. We also offer pathways into two-handed dinghies, starting with the club’s Herons.
Junior courses are designed to progress the younger sailor (8 to 15 years old) from beginner to a reasonably competent sailor.
Learning to sail has proved to be an important step in helping young children to build their self-confidence.
Youth 15+ and Adult courses are suitable for both adults and children over 15 and is ideal for families to learn together.
You'll learn the fundamental skills of sailing and will be introduced to the fun of dinghy sailing in a safe and supportive environment.
